Ilshin Polaris Royal - Roro Cargo Ship in Kanmon Strait 12/2021 Ilshin Polaris Royal recently (Dec. 2021) passed thru the Kanmon Strait and under the Kanmon Bridge. Good looking vessel. Nice red color. The Kanmon Strait sees lots of marine traffic and Roro ships like this Korean vessel are a common site. The Kanmon Straits are quite treacherous and larger ships often utilize the services of pilot ships to guide them. The Kanmon Strait runs between Honshu Island (Shimonoseki City) and Kyushu Island (Kitakyushu City). Shimonosuckites and Kitakyushites are often greeted with the wonderful scenery of passing ships, boats, and sometimes submarines.
