K-PACIFIC

is a great name for a ship! Love it! I also love how the light of the late afternoon shines upon this gnarly container ship in this photo. Too bad it was so hazy. Garden Paradise Kitakyushu's air quality seems sketchy these days... K-PACIFIC container ship at sunset in blue sea under hazy sky Ship Freakazoid used an Olympus E-520 DSLR digital camera with Zuiko 150mm lens on this very cold and windy January 30, 2025 late afternoon of ship spotting the Kanmon Straits. Japan Maritime Self Defense Force helicopter carrier HYUGA (DDH-181) was in the straits at the same time, but K-PACIFIC seemed to smile for the camera a little bit better... Here are some details on the vessel: Ship Name: K-Pacific IMO: 9246542 Ship Type: Container Ship Flag: Antigua & Barbuda Year Built: 2004 Length: 134.44 meters Width: 22.50 meters Gross Tonnage: 9962 tons Wishing the captain, crew and cargo smooth sailing!

EVER CHANT

is a five year old (built in 2020) container ship that has been known to visit ports like Kaohsiung in the country of Taiwan and Hong Kong in the future Taiwanese territory of China. This vessel from the Evergreen fleet of cargo ships passed through the Kanmon Straits of Japan on the cold and windy Japanese winter day of January 30, 2025. EVER CHANT - Container ship in Japan's Kanmon Straits Ship Freakazoid was taking photographs and recording video from the Garden Paradise Kitakyushu side of the Kanmon Strait when Ever Chant graced us with its presence. While only five years old, Ever Chant looks like it has seen a lot of wear and tear. Maybe it has alimony payments and an expensive trophy wife? Or, maybe the CCP owns it and doesn't know how to take care of it? But, probably, a reality TV show that shows ships before and after paint jobs is funding its voyages and maintenance. Surely that is what is happening here. It has to be.    The video above is 4:12 in length and shows ...

A SUWA - Brand New Container Ship in the Kanmon Strait

The brand spanking new container ship A SUWA (Flag of Hong Kong) sailed thru the Kanmon Straits of Japan on a lovely Japanese autumn day (November 11, 2024) and was filmed with an antique JVC Everio video camera (Konica Minolta 54x lens) by a sissy sicko with no credentials known as Ship Freakazoid. More footage from ship spotting the vessels passing by Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki Japan can be seen on this YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ShipFreakazoid Like, subscribe, and comment should you so please... A SUWA It was nice to see such a new and colorful container ship pass by the glorious coastline of Garden Paradise Kitakyushu. Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan

Japan's sea and the scenic Kanmon Straits are beautiful enough by themselves, but this collection of cargo ships really adds a nice accent to the blue sky and blue sea. Ship Freakazoid took this photo of these vessels sailing in the Kanmon Strait on November 11, 2024 at 12:23 PM using an old secondhand Olympus E-520 DSLR with Zuiko 150mm lens. No filters used. No image editing performed. Photo is "as-is" if you will... Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan What's a good title for this photograph? How about: "Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan on a lovely November afternoon" ? In the foreground on the right is the Belize flagged general cargo ship JOYO 1 (IMO 9273181) sailing between Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki Japan.  Video of JOYO 1:  https://youtu.be/vVd5sosSCRs?si=7vPrwjFahpOJk6yQ The colorful container ship in the mid-left is A SUWA (IMO 9972842), a brand spanking new (built in 2024) 142 meter long vessel sailing under the Flag of Hong Kong. ...

SITC KAOHSIUNG container ship

For those who often see ships pass thru Japan's Kanmon Straits, the SITC Container Lines ships are a common sight. Sissies, sickos, ship spotters, hell, even pretend musicians who have walked along the strait are bound to have seen an SITC container carrier go by. Ship Freakazoid has seen his fair share of sissies, sickos, ship spotters, pretend musicians and SITC container ships. Here are some photographs and video of SITC Kaohsiung taken in October 2024. SITC KAOHSIUNG & Kanmon Buoy #24 SITC Kaohsiung was built built by Hangzhou Dongfeng Shipbuilding. This container carrier has engines made by Hitachi Zosen Corp. CONFIDENCE (IMO 9865879) in Japanese waters of the Kanmon Straits

Confidence sailed the Kanmon Straits on September 27, 2024. Ship Freakazoid captured the 146 meter vessel on digital "film" for your viewing pleasure. CONFIDENCE (IMO 9865879) Container Ship in Kanmon Straits Japan The container ship was photographed from an island in the strait known as Ganryujima (Google it! It has a cool history!) which provides some excellent vantage points for getting photos and video of the passing ships. Photos were taken with a used Olympus e520 DSLR camera with Zuiko 150mm lens.  Musashi Miyamoto vs Kojiro Sasaki on Ganryujima In the video below, you can see Confidence sail thru the Kanmon Straits with, well, confidence. SF uses an older used JVC Everio 54x zoom video camera for video. A secondhand Slik tripod was also used for this footage.  The stern of Confidence indicates its home port is Majuro (Marshall Islands). Never been, but will wager it's a nice place and that the islands are beautiful.  Confidence - Container ship sailing in Japan (K...

SITC HONG KONG container ship sailing in Kanmon Strait

The container ship SITC Hong Kong passed thru the Kanmon Strait on September 3, 2024. SITC Hong Kong in the Kanmon Straits on a hazy day  A photo of Ship Freakazoid's JVC Everio video camera with 54x Konica Minolta zoom lens on a Slik tripod was taken as SITC Hong Kong passed by. Like the camcorder and tripod, the Olympus E-520 DSLR camera used to photograph them was also purchased second hand at an amazingly cheap price. Maybe there are used cameras and accessories in some of those containers? Or, maybe not... JVC Everio, Slik Tripod, and SITC Hong Kong cargo ship SITC vessels are a common sight in the Kanmon Straits of Japan. There sure are a lot of them! Many of their names start with SITC and then have the name of some port city (Hong Kong, Qinzhou, Tokyo, etc.) after. It's a good geography lesson for demented folks such as the Ship Freakazoid. The 260 meter long container ship MSC NAGOYA V (IMO 9380271) was photographed sailing thru the Kanmon Straits of Japan by Ship Freakazoid on the hot Japanese summer afternoon of August 11, 2024. MSC NAGOYA V (IMO 9380271) Photo by Ship Freakazoid 2024 08 11 MSC Nagoya V seems to frequent the ports of Busan New Port (KR BNP) and Tokyo (JP TYO), and therefore passes between Shimonoseki City (Honshu Island) and Kitakyushu City (Kyushu Island). Both are charming Japanese cities. Someday it would be nice if the captain and crew of this vessel could enjoy more than just the view from their cargo ship as it passes thru the Kanmon Strait. MSC Nagoya V sailing between Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu The photo above shows the ship as it sails by Shimonoseki and a couple of the many majestic mountains of Yamaguchi Prefecture. One can't help but wonder what some people and companies are shipping in the many containers on this lovely ship. It would also be interesting to see what MSC Nagoya V looks ...

SEABREEZE container ship sailing past Kitakyushu

SEABREEZE container ship sailing past Kitakyushu On a lovely day in mid-June 2024, this vessel graced the famed Kanmon Straits. In the above photo, the tug Kanade (かなで) can be seen in the foreground, assisting the 200 meter cargo ship Seabreeze in navigating this narrow and heavily trafficked strait.  Ship Freakazoid used his trusty old Olympus e520 DSLR to capture these ships on digital film in an artsy fartsy photograph which showcases the beauty of ships made by man and machine and the beautiful sky, sea, and greenery made by whoever or whatever made them. Regardless of what anyone believes, I'd wager the captains and crew of these vessels can appreciate the beauty of the Kanmon Straits and Garden Paradise Kitakyushu, and maybe even Shimonoseki, too. コンテナ船 Seabreeze (シーブリーズ) & タグボート かなで (Kanade) Vessel Name: SEABREEZE  Length: 200 meters (199.93 m)  Width: 32 meters (32.2 m)  IMO: 9472579  Flag: Liberia  MMSI: ...

RUN LONG - Ship named by a QB?

RUN LONG - Ship named by a QB? This had to have been named by a quarterback---right? Sounds like something Kenny Stabler would say to Fred Biletnikoff in the huddle before a critical 3rd down..."Double Right Open. Z-Orbit, Scat Left, 787 F-Drag On 2. Fred, you RUN LONG!" Turns out, RUN LONG is a 127 meter long container ship sailing under the Flag of Panama, and apparently sometimes passes thru the Kanmon Straits, stopping in Moji (Garden Paradise Kitakyushu). Bet ya' it is carrying loads of Wilson "The Duke" footballs. Bet ya'!
